Ciao, Italia!

An awesome two weeks has come to an end and we're all back in the U.S. of A.  Looking back on the time in Italy, I can't believe it was only fifteen days.  When I think about all the places we traveled to, all the incredible meals we ate, and all the gardens we visited, it seems like we spent at least two months in Italy.  Somehow, we managed to cram in cities, lakes, and beaches all into just a couple of weeks.  Somehow, we managed to learn so much about each other, about landscape design, and about Italian culture, history, and food.  Now, after a week in the States, I am seriously missing the narrow, windy streets, the olive trees, and of course, the gelato.   Even though our time in Italy is over, the experience is still with us.  A couple of nights ago, I made risotto and bruschetta for dinner and popped open a bottle of Chianti brought back from Italy.  I find myself wanting to walk everywhere rather than drive.  I've also begun noticing many more details in architecture, landscapes, and plants.  I'm sure that my classmates would agree with me when I say it was truly an experience of a lifetime.  I wonder where Garry will take us next year...?
